Weddings at The Edge Mountain Retreat 2019

ACCOMMODATION & VENUE HIRE

 

Please note that The Edge does not host weddings during school holidays or over long weekends.

Prices valid until 30 December 2020

 

Wedding packages (3 options).

Option 1: Buffet.

This package includes:

  1. Two night’s accommodation in our honeymoon cottage for the bridal couple.
  2. A welcome cocktail per guest.
  3. Four canapes per guest. Choose from our menu.
  4. One bottle of sparkling wine per 8 guests for the toast. Alcoholic/non-alcoholic available.
  5. Buffet that includes:

1 starter, 2 meats, 2 starch, 2 salads and 2 veg.

Homemade ice cream to be served with your own wedding cake supplied by you OR one dessert.

Coffee and tea station.

  1. 10% gratuity for staff and 15% vat.
  2. The hire of the Vula Vista Venue includes:

The exclusive use of the venue and veranda/deck with its spectacular views from 9am on the day before the wedding until midnight on day of wedding. After midnight there is an additional charge of R1500 per hour or part thereof.

Blinds for enclosing veranda/deck.

The use of our world famous labyrinth.

Wooden rectangular tables seat up to 12 people.

Rectangular wooden wedding table that seats 6 on one side or 12 if using both sides.

Buffet tables.

Elegant white solid wood wedding chairs.

Plastic chairs and covers for garden or labyrinth ceremonies.

Bar area.

A small lounge area but this will depend on if the number of guests allow for the space.

Wooden picnic tables with benches (up to 6) for lawn area in front of Vula Vista Venue.

Two fire baskets for outside including fire-wood.

Inside fire place and fire wood.

Crockery, cutlery, stemware, candle sticks.

Wedding cake table and cake knife.

White table cloths and serviettes.

Data projector and screen.

Function manager available from the start of the wedding until the end.

Sourcing and liaising with wedding suppliers.

Maximum 2 Barmen and maximum 6 waiters.

Setting up of venue (excluding draping and personalized décor) and cleaning of venue.

15 x 10m strings of fairy lights.

Generator in case of load shedding.

 

This package does NOT include:

Alcohol and bar options.

The R1500 per hour (or part thereof) charge for the hire of the venue after midnight.

A wedding planner/coordinator, the minister and DJ.

Flowers & Décor, Wedding cake. And wedding favours.

Extra lighting, sound system, musicians.

Stationary, menu, seating plan etc.

Photographer/videographer.

Costs for anything damaged or broken.

Tree planting with plaque.

Everything else that is not included in the ‘included’ list above.

Option 3: Personalise your own wedding.

How to calculate the cost of your personalised wedding reception………….

  1. Choose your own menu options from the lists below. Total the price of all the items you have chosen and that will give you the food price per person.
  2. Multiply that by the number of your guests.
  3. Don’t forget to add on your alcohol/bar requirements.
  4. Add 10% gratuity on food and beverages.
  5. To that total add R200 per person for venue hire.
  6. That will give you the total cost for your wedding reception.That total price will include:

WATERFALL CATHEDRAL & FOREST VENUES

Set in the forest, this pristine waterfall is like Nature’s own cathedral ….the perfect backdrop for your fairy-tale Wedding Ceremony.

A wooden platform serves as an elevated chancel for the Wedding Couple and Marriage Officiant, and guests are seated on rustic wooden benches or chairs – with a glorious view of the wedding party and waterfall.

Ask about our Water Ceremony, where the theme of the wedding service is centered around the water – a very special and intimate touch.

The property, Hogrock Falls, is easy to access (on the main road) and has off-street parking available.  The waterfall is situated in a stunning little krans which is accessed by a short pathway.  Its less than 100m gentle walk with a few stairs, making it one of the most accessible waterfalls in Hogsback.  The Waterfall Barn, situated at the top of the waterfall, has a large verandah that can be made available in case of rain.

Waterfall Forest

Forest weddings are a lovely country wedding trend, and so Waterfall Forest offers a giant tree as the backdrop for the wedding ceremony.  Guests are seated between the trees on benches on the terraced slope with an unobstructed vies of the wedding ceremony.  Some couples have chosen to host their ceremony in the forest, have their canapes at the Waterfall, and then their receptions in the barn or at The Edge Vula Vista Venue.

LABYRINTH

at The Edge Mountain Retreat. The Labyrinth at The Edge is an eleven-circuit Labyrinth, similar in design to the Labyrinth in the Chartres Cathedral in France. It is one of the most intricate Labyrinth designs.  This outdoor venue is a lovely setting for intimate wedding ceremonies.

This intimate stone and thatch chapel in Hogsback is available for wedding ceremonies (pax 70 persons), and is approximately 4kms from ‘The Edge’. From R2500
